06 Oct 08 John Thornhill Coaching Was Born (Part 3)
It was now 6 years since John first launched his online business. Members of his eBook business program were desperate to follow in his footsteps and take the leap into full time Internet Marketing employment.
Unfortunately many struggled with the basics, they didn’t know how to create a website, how to write a blog, how to create a product, how to create a sales page, how to track down affiliates and joint venture partners and most importantly how to make sales!
With so many people asking John the same questions over and over, he saw an opportunity so he decided to do something about it! In 2007 John launched “John Thornhill Coaching”.
This would be a 16 week coaching/mentoring program, where John would personally coach his students and show them exactly how they could establish and online presence and become successful in their own right.
When the coaching initially launched, priced at just under $500, it sold out in a matter of hours, as John was offering genuine one on one coaching, he couldn’t keep up with the demand!
After the first students had finished their 16 week course, some of the results were staggering; some students had made over $10,000 after successfully creating and selling their own product under the guidance of John Thornhill’s Coaching!

Fast forward a few months and John was making a very good income from selling eBooks on eBay. He had a good range of eBooks with resale rights to sell, and he was adding to his collection every day.
Everything was automated; all he had to do was list some new eBooks each day and watch his earnings, and his eBay feedback grow at an impressive rate.
However, John Thornhill still wasn’t satisfied!
He wanted to take his “PlanetSMS” brand to the next level, so again, he started to do some research and soon figured out that he could make a fortune if he showed other people just how easy it was (and still is!) to sell eBooks on eBay.
So in 2004 he launched his flag ship product, “The PlanetSMS Own eBook Business In A Box”.
This new membership site would teach the novice exactly how to sell eBooks on eBay. Not only would John show the members how to do this, he would also provide them with the stock to sell, as well as a professional website from which to sell the eBooks.
He initially sold the package on eBay, and sales were great. John quickly decided to branch out into the Internet Marketing niche, and managed to get the attention of a few big name marketers who were so impressed with his membership site that they promoted it to their own members on a commission basis.
Word soon got out and in no time the members’ area had grown beyond even John’s wildest dreams. His “PlanetSMS” ebay shop and powerseller program/eBook business had made John very wealthy, and had also turned him into a very well respected Internet Marketer, securing joint venture deals with some of the biggest names in the industry.

06 Oct 08 In The Beginning There Was eBay (Part 1)
John Thornhill started to build his online empire back in the early naughties. Before John stumbled across eBay and eBook, he actually had a full time job in a factory based in the North East of England.
Never one to pass up on an opportunity, John noticed that a lot of people on eBay were making a fortune selling digital items, or digital items shipped on a CD. He quickly realised that these products were very easy to obtain, unbeknown to many; a lot of the items selling in huge quantities on eBay were products that came with resale rights – meaning anybody could sell them!
John could see there was a chance to make some serious money from this, so he opened up his eBay store under the name “PlanetSMS”, to this day the store is still online!
In the early days, John was, by his own admission, a bit of a technophobe! He didn’t really know how to automate the whole eBook selling process, so he decided that it would be best if he stuck with what he knew, so he decided he would burn all of the eBooks he sold to CD, and send them to customers through the post.
This system worked well, but John “PlanetSMS” Thornhill still wasn’t happy, he didn’t like going to the post office every day with a sack full of CD’s!
So he asked around, and soon found out that the entire eBook selling process on eBay could be automated. He could use a digital delivery script to deliver his eBooks as soon as a buyer paid him.
This would remove the hassle of making daily visits to the post office, and it would bring his costs down to almost zero!
